Post-closure and Operational Safety Assessments as well as Environmental Impact Assessment are key activities guiding RD&D and siting. We provide world-leading services in this field based on methodology developed by SKB.
Stakeholder Communication is a most demanding task in a radioactive waste disposal programme. We offer our support how to work together and establish dialogue with the many stakeholders at national, regional and local level.
SKB has submitted its applications required by the Nuclear Activities Act and the Environmental Code to the Radiation Safety Authority and to the Land and Environment Court for permits to build
- a Spent Fuel Repository at Forsmark,
- an encapsulation facility at Oskarshamn
- an extension of the Final Repository for Short-Lived Radioactive Waste, the SFR, at Forsmark.
SKB has long experience preparing applications and are able to support other organisations in their licensing processes.
