Your rights

Your rights as a data subject are governed by Chapter III and Articles 12–23 of the General Data Protection Regulation. Regardless of the purpose for which we have collected your personal data or with the support of the relationship we have, your rights are always the same in relation to us. You have the right to:

Clear and precise information

As data controller, SKB shall take appropriate measures to provide information in a clear manner and language. You have the right to receive the information in writing and when appropriate in electronic form. The electronic form is deemed appropriate if it is determined to be secure and your identity cannot be disclosed to unauthorised persons. You can request to receive the information verbally as long as we can verify your identity.

We have an obligation to only disclose personal data to those concerned and will therefore in the first instance send extracts from our register to the address on public record. The information is normally sent within one month of receiving your request at personuppgifter@skb.se.

Information regarding what we have registered about you

You always have the right to know what data we have saved about you, the purpose of the personal data processing we do and the legal basis for the processing we apply. The legal basis may consist of consent, contractual obligation (including the necessity to enter into a contract), legal basis (i.e. a law that forces us to collect and process your personal data) or a balance of interests. In the event of a balance of interests, you have the right to know which interest takes precedence and the reasons for this.

You also have the right to know what the consequences are if you do not provide your personal data to us, for example that you cannot enter into an agreement with us or visit our facilities.

Information regarding how long we store your personal data

For certain personal data processing events, we know in advance how long your data will be stored, and this is stated in the respective processing event. For other personal data processing (such as a contractual obligation), we explain the criteria that are the basis for calculating how long your data is stored.

Access to, objection to, rectification of or deletion of your personal data

You have the right to request access to your personal data and to request rectification or deletion of your personal data. You can also request a restriction of the processing that concerns you as a data subject or object to a certain personal data processing. Such an objection may be made against certain personal data processing, for example if it is based on a balance of interests and you do not agree with our reason for processing personal data concerning you.

You also have the right to request the deletion of your personal data to the extent possible. For certain personal data, we can only delete your data once the basis for the processing has ceased, for example an agreement has ceased or a law has been amended so that we no longer need to process personal data.

Withdraw your consent

When personal data processing is based on consent as a legal basis, you always have the right to withdraw your consent for future processing. Please note that withdrawing consent will not change the legality of the processing during the period for which you provided consent.

If your personal data has been published with your consent and you later withdraw it, SKB will take reasonable steps to safeguard your right to be forgotten.

Lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority

If you believe that we do not comply with the General Data Protection Regulation or do not otherwise process your personal data in accordance with applicable regulations, you always have the right to contact the supervisory authority that handles your privacy, Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (Data Protection Authority).

The Swedish Nuclear Fuel and Waste Management company is the personal data controller. We can be reached at personuppgifter@skb.se or +46 (0)8 459 84 00.
